Terms and Conditions

Last updated: [effective date]

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Siyapath (the "Service"), an interactive learning platform for Sri Lankan students operated by [Legal entity name] ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who can use the Service

The Service is intended for school students, their parents or guardians, and teachers. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf.

2. Your account

  • You sign up with a Sri Lankan mobile number, which must be yours or one you are allowed to use. We verify it by SMS.
  • The information you give us must be accurate and kept up to date.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for everything done through your account.
  • One account is for one person. Do not share your account or sell access to it.
  • Tell us straight away at [contact email] if you think someone else has used your account.

3. Acceptable use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

  • copy, download in bulk, republish, sell or distribute our lessons, questions or other content;
  • try to access accounts, data or parts of the Service you are not allowed to access;
  • interfere with the Service, for example by overloading it, scraping it or introducing malicious code;
  • use the Service for anything unlawful, harmful or abusive.

4. Our content

The lessons, questions, illustrations, design and software of the Service are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. We give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use them for your own learning. Nothing in these Terms gives you ownership of any of this content.

5. Educational content

We work hard to keep our lessons accurate and aligned with the Sri Lankan national curriculum, but we cannot guarantee that every lesson is free of errors, complete or up to date with every syllabus change. The Service supports learning. It does not replace your school, teachers or official textbooks. If you spot a mistake, please tell us at [contact email].

6. Availability and changes to the Service

We may add, change or remove features, lessons or subjects at any time. We aim to keep the Service available, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.

7. Suspension and closing accounts

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms or puts the Service or other users at risk. You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account by contacting [contact email].

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is", and we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including exam results, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited under Sri Lankan law.

9. Privacy

How we handle your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will show the date of the latest change at the top of this page and, for important changes, tell you when you next sign in. If you continue to use the Service after a change, you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have jurisdiction over any dispute.
