Question 5
Is pressure a scalar or a vector quantity, and why?
The right answer is the one marked above.
A scalar, because pressure has magnitude only. A number and a unit are therefore enough to state a pressure in full.
Pressure does come from force, which is a vector, but dividing by an area does not carry the direction through. The best evidence is that at a point inside a liquid the pressure is the same in every direction.
