Question 4
A 10 Ω and a 2 Ω resistor in series are connected to a 6 V supply. What current flows through the circuit?
The right answer is the one marked above.
0.5 A. The equivalent resistance is 12 Ω, so I = V ÷ R = 6 ÷ 12 = 0.5 A.
0.6 A is what you get by dividing 6 by 10 — using one resistor instead of the pair. The 6 V is across both, so it must be divided by both.
