Question 1
What is a wave?
The right answer is the one marked above.
A disturbance that travels through a medium or through space. What travels is the disturbance itself — the ripple, not the water.
Flowing water moves the material; a wave does not. Something moving up and down may be part of a wave, but is not itself one, and a material that carries sound is a medium, not a wave.
