Question 1
What is velocity, and what kind of quantity is it?
The right answer is the one marked above.
The rate of change of displacement; it is a vector quantity. Velocity is found by dividing displacement by time:
velocity = displacement ÷ time
Because displacement carries a direction, so does velocity — it has both a magnitude and a direction, which makes it a vector. Speed, worked out from distance, is a scalar. The rate of change of speed is not velocity but acceleration.
