Question 2
An object travels along a straight path with a constant velocity of 6 m s-1. What is its displacement after 5 s?
The right answer is the one marked above.
30 m. For an object moving with constant velocity, multiplying the velocity by the time gives the displacement:
displacement = velocity × time = 6 m s-1 × 5 s = 30 m
Constant velocity means the displacement changes by 6 m every second, and the direction of the motion stays the same too. So over 5 s the object covers 5 × 6 = 30 m.
