A force does 24 J of work while acting through a distance of 80 cm. What is the force? (Exercise 18.1, row 2)

30 N. 80 cm is 0.8 m. force = work ÷ distance = 24 J ÷ 0.8 m = 30 N.

0.3 N is what you get by dividing 24 by 80 and leaving the distance in centimetres. This is the only row of the exercise that is not already in metres, and it is there on purpose.
