Lesson: Chapter 5 — Optics

Images formed by a concave mirror 2 of 7

Object at the focus

With the object exactly at the focus, the reflected rays leave parallel to each other.

An object at F; after reflection the ray parallel to the axis passes through F and the ray from C comes back along itself, and the two reflected rays are parallel, so they meet only at infinity.

The image

At infinity. If the parallel rays are taken to meet at infinity, the image is real, inverted and extremely large.
