pH papers

pH papers come in small booklets or rolls, like litmus paper. They are made by combining several indicators.

Using a pH paper

  1. Touch a strip of pH paper with the solution.
  2. Compare the colour it turns with the colour chart.
  3. Read off the pH.

A pH paper tells you whether a solution is acidic, basic or neutral — and, unlike a single indicator, roughly how strong the acid or base is.
